Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution continues to rack up clearances for its upcoming one-hour daily first-run strip hosted by Anderson Cooper.
In addition to initial clearances, new sales include stations in Orlando, Fla. (WESH); Sacramento, Calif. (KCRA); Indianapolis (WISH-WNDY); Baltimore (WBAL); San Diego (KFMB); Kansas City (WDAF); Cincinnati (WKRC); Milwaukee (WITI); Greenville-Spartanburg, S.C. (WLOS); West Palm Beach, Fla. (WPBF), Albuquerque, N.M. (KOAT), Oklahoma City, Okla. (KOCO); Greensboro, N.C. (WXII); Jacksonville, Fla. (WTLV-WJXX); Louisville, Ky. (WLKY); New Orleans (WDSU); Albany, N.Y. (WNYT); Burlington, Vt. (WPTZ); and Santa Barbara (KEYT), Monterey (KSBW) and Bakersfield, Calif. (KBAK). Represented station groups include Hearst, Gannett, LIN, Newport, Sinclair, Local TV, Hubbard, Fisher, Midwest TV and Smith.
"Shows come and go, but Anderson Cooper's new talk show is perceived by stations as a once-in-a-decade opportunity to be a game changer," said Rick Meril, evp, general sales manager, Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution. "This is a series that has the ability to play to a wide audience, whether it's adjacent to local news or coming out of morning magazines. And, it is a testament to its strength that stations are now rushing to secure the show for their program lineup and that San Diego and Bakersfield will air Anderson in place of Oprah next fall."
Anderson Cooper’s first-run talker will debut in September 2011.
