Anderson explores the recently uncovered black market baby ring that has been operating for years in the United States. Run by ruthless lawyers, parentless embryos are created in overseas labs and then sold as babies for hundreds of thousands of dollars to women in America desperate for children.

Taylor Stein, who assisted in bringing down the ring, was only two weeks away from her surrogate giving birth when she received a call from the FBI informing her that she was a victim of this international fraud.

Anderson speaks with two surrogates (who were unknowingly involved in the illegal ring and implanted with embryos in the Ukraine) about the outcome of their pregnancies after the ring was busted. Anderson speaks with a surrogacy attorney, who discussed the dos and don’ts of surrogacy, so future surrogates and adoptive parents don’t fall prey to baby ring scams.

Anderson also meets Dani, a feral child who grew up in isolation and never learned normal social behavior, and the loving family who took her in and changed her life.
