CNN anchor Anderson Cooper’s daytime talkshow finally has a name. According to advertisements on the websites of TV trade magazine Broadcasting & Cable (pictured right), the show will be called simply “Anderson.”
NY Times media reporter Brian Stelter confirmed the name via his Twitter account last night.
“Anderson” is expected to launch in Fall, 2011 ans has already been sold in dozens of markets. As we reported, it will run on the Fox O&Os in a number of top markets, including Los Angeles, Chicago and Boston.
As the trade ad points out, his show will also be replacing “Oprah” in some markets, a move that is not to be taken lightly, given her dominance of daytime. Oprah is shifting her efforts to her joint venture cable channel with Discovery Communications, OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network.
