Disappointing, Depressing...

Now everybody is talking about the next Anderson-Benjamin-Out-Gay rumor: The Break Up! And perhaps this time the rumor is true, although I hope it is just that, a rumor. It would be very sad to see them go on to separate lives; but on the other hand we know how difficult it would be for an out gay man to live with a closeted famous personality -- however transparent that closet might have been.

Let's face it, Anderson is really married to his job, and the amount of time he dedicates to his three jobs, plus quite a number of other side line events he attends, leaves very little time to pay attention to a partner.

I feel bad for myself, I really would have liked to see Anderson happily married to Benjamin, but that option seems to be farther and farther apart, if not all together gone.

Now, I am thinking, I hope Benjamin has found the relationship he really needs with this new fellow; and Anderson is happy keeping himself busy with his new-new show and all the work on the field he does for CNN and 60 Minutes.

We (I) keep trying to place Anderson in a mold that most likely does not fit him: that of a regular guy with a regular job in a conventional gay relationship. But, in all honesty, Anderson is not a regular guy with a regular job, he is different, better at his job than any of us is at his/hers -- Heck! More dedicated than any of us is at whatever keeps us busy, and he looks very happy doing it. So, to put it in our mold is a disfavor to Anderson, it just doesn't fit him!

Whether true or not -- but most likely true, Anderson is now single and most probably NOT waiting for the next Mr. Right. As long as he is happy is all what's important and I hope that he IS happy doing what he does best: paying attention to his public.

Let the (probably true) rumors begin!
