What Is Anderson Reading? This Week's Newsletter Video Message

Saturday, July 14, 2012 -- 5:00 AM

In this week's newsletter videos, Anderson (fresh from his travels to Africa) discusses the books he's currently reading, and asks for your book suggestions…

Plus, in this behind-the-scenes video, Anderson talks about his summer book list and how he manages to read with his busy schedule. "I read on the plane, I readduring the downtime in between shoots… because I get a lot of tweets from people asking me when I have time to read, and it's usually sitting on planes or sitting in airports."

Here's What Anderson is Reading!

'Gone Girl' by Gillian Flynn

I’ve been reading a lot this summer, I finished “Gone Girl.” I really recommend it. It’s kind of a mystery thriller, with a lot of twists and turns.

'Beautiful Ruins' by Jess Walter

I also just finished “Beautiful Ruins,” and that’s a really good book. It’s got a lot of different characters and it kind of goes back and forth in time, and it’s a really well done book.

'Forever' by Pete Hamill

I’ve just started Pete Hamill’s book, called “Forever.” I’m only about 50 pages into it, but I’m really enjoying it.

'Most Talkative: Stories from the Front Lines of Pop Culture'
by Andy Cohen

It’s a very funny memoir by my friend, Bravo’s Andy Cohen. I laughed out loud, and anyone who likes pop culture will really like this book.

'What We Talk About When We Talk About Anne Frank: Stories' by Nathan Englander

A wonderful collection of short stories.

'The Hunger Games' series by Suzanne Collins

Yes, I know I am very late to “The Hunger Games” series, but I just read them and really enjoyed them. They are an easy read, but exciting and thoroughly enjoyable.

'Blue Nights' by Joan Didion

It is about the death of Didion’s daughter and its aftermath. Her writing is incredibly poignant.

'11/22/63' by Stephen King

Couldn’t put it down… a perfect read for the summer.
