

Timeline: Michael Jackson Death Trial

More than two years after the death of Michael Jackson, the trial of his personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, began last week. Murray is facing involuntary manslaughter charges; accused of administering a lethal dose of propofol, a powerful anesthetic, which according to Jackson's autopsy caused his death. Murray's defense team is out to prove that the King of Pop's death was caused by Jackson alone.
Below is a timeline of what has happened in the trial thus far:

Day 1 – Sept 27:
Pictures of Michael Jackson on the day of his death were shown. One photo conveyed Jackson dancing on stage and looking healthy. The other photo shows him later that same day, in bed with closed eyes and tape over the space between his lips and nose.
The prosecutors, David Walgren and Deborah Brazil, claim that Jackson’s death is homicidal based on “gross negligence” of Conrad Murray.
The defense, consisting of Dr. Ed Chernoff, J. Michael Flanagan and Joseph Low, IV, claimed that Jackson distributed a lethal dose of drugs to himself after days of Murray’s attempts to wean Jackson off of drugs.
The first witness, Kenny Ortega, the co-Director of Jackson’s “This Is It” concert series, testified that Jackson had been unwellin weeks prior to his death.
A video of Jackson’s final performance, his song “Earth Song,” was played for the courtroom.

Anderson Asks Guard About Michael Jackson Drug Use

Anderson asks Mike Garcia, one of Michael Jackson’s former security guards and someone in the family’s close circle, if it was clear that the King of Pop had a drug issue.
“I'll say that I've seen him intoxicated, but to have a drug issue, um, not during my watch,” comments Garcia. “It wasn’t like he was an addict or anything like that.”
