Some Good News For ‘Anderson’
By Alex Weprin on October 5, 2011 -- 10:21 AM
After a rough first week or two, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper‘s daytime talk show is finding its ratings footing. As Paige Albiniak reports at B&C, “Anderson” has settled into something of a groove:
-
Warner Bros.’ Anderson made its national debut on the ratings chart at a 1.4, making it the second-highest talk show premiere in five years, behind only Dr. Oz‘s 2009 premiere. Anderson, which had its first-week rating reprocessed by Nielsen, was easily the top-rated first-run rookie.
The 1.4 rating puts Anderson right behind bona fide daytime stars Rachael Ray and Jerry Springer, both of whom drew a 1.5. The top talkers are “Dr. Phil” and “Dr. Oz,” drawing 3.1 and 3.0 ratings, respectively. The top syndication show overall? “Judge Judy,” which drew a 6.7 rating.
